HOLY TIME LAPSE BATMAN!

Here it is almost two years later and I'm blogging again. I RESOLVE to blog daily or at least every other day, so I can at least record the events of Gracie's life. She's a loving and happy 30 month old. We're starting potty training but brilliant child that she is, she's basically doing it herself. Favorite catch phrases are "ohhhhhh, I think so" and "Oh my Gawd!" She likes to play dolls and anything that has to do with babies. We had a wonderful Christmas in spite of Ric's passing on Nov. 26. Will blog about those two events later. Today is Friday and mom is bringing Grace home so we can all go to Joann Fabrics. Went to Scrap Funattic and used my gift certificate and bought Best of Becky Higgins Sketches and the Scrapbooker's Almanac. Pumped about both. Tad starts school on Feb. 22nd (there's another posts). Tomorrow we meet Rolando, Rachelle, Jake and Joey at McDonald's for a play date.

Time Keeps On Tickin.....Into the Future

Definitely have to work on the disclipline of posting daily, especially if I want to record the daily adventures of Grace. She's picking up speed in crawling and continues to get into everything. This morning, she woke up at 4 am (AGAIN) and fell off the bed while I was in the bathroom. Then she tipped over the vase in the hallway. She wasn't hurt either time, but it scared her. Needless to say, I'm wiped out. She's started throwing fits during diaper changes which is still funny to me. She bucks and yells. She's found her volume and yelled all morning. She yelled at Barney (AAAAAAAHHHHH), and in the car on the way to Grandma's. She isn't yelling because she's upset, but more that she's discovered how loud she can be and she is enjoying it. It's funny. Sometimes, though, she gets to yelling and gets so agitated that she starts to cry. What a silly!

We had snow today and it was her first time seeing snow. If it hasn't all melted by the time we get home, I hope to get some pictures of her. She was looking around today, wondering why the heck the neighborhood was white! It was cute.

Yesterday was her day with Daddy. They are so cute together. Tad has every Wednesday off, so she stays home with him while I work instead of going to Grandma's. They are great play buddies. Mommy is feeding and bedtime and making it better, and Daddy is fun and laughter and playing. God help us, she had us on the couch watching Teletubbies with her yesterday evening. You can tell who runs the show in our house!

St. Patrick's Weekend - A Weekend of Firsts

Today is a rainy Saturday. I cleaned the house last night and even mopped the kitchen floor, but I just noticed that it is covered in muddy paw prints. Oh well.....

Yesterday was Grace's first St. Patrick's Day. I found that baby girl clothes don't come in green, but I dressed her in a pink top and floral pants with green on them. We went to Ma's house and made shamrock cookies with Marie. Gracie cut a cookie (with help) and then proceeded to eat sugar cookie dough. Both little girls were a mess, so Ma gave them both a bath. It was cute to see them play in the tub together. Gracie looks at Marie with such love and admiration and tries to copy everything Marie does, and on Marie's part, it does her self-esteem good to be idolized so. "She loves me so much!" Marie announced. Marie washed Gracie's hair and Gracie actually submitted to it! There was somewhat of a skirmish over who got Ma's shamrock necklace, but Gracie got it in the end as Marie had already broken hers.

After bath time, Gracie was exhausted, so she went down for a nap and we tried to convince Marie that we should all pile on the bed and watch the Barbie Fairytopia Mermaidia movie, but for some reason, she didn't want to. She wanted to watch Strawberry Shortcake, but after it started, she went to the kitchen to help Ma frost our cookies. I set up Dad's photo printer and printed out the pictures we took of our St. Patrick's celebration. After Grace woke up, Mom and I piled on the bed and started to watch the Barbie movie, but I was pretty tired and sore and Gracie didn't get her sleep out, so we left to come home and take a nap.

Today is the next day and it's been a good day. Even though I woke up with a bruised stomach from yesterday and in a lot of pain, Gracie made me forget it. She's been an angel today, crawling around the house, exploring. Yes, she's gotten into the dog food repeatedly and destroyed the living room. But we've taken two long naps and the highlight was at lunch, she started saying "Mama." She's been saying "Ama" but today was the real deal. After lunch, we snuggled in bed and she looked right at me, said "Mama" and gave me a hug around my neck and buried her face in the crook of my neck. Talk about melting my heart!!

Later, after she woke up, I gave her an important first experience in the life of a female, her first chocolate chip cookie. I put it in the mesh snack bag and she promptly made a chocolate, doughy mess of it, but her little babbles and moans of joy were so cute! She's now in her high chair, finishing off a teething biscuit and a complete mess, so I shall end this entry and take her right to the bathtub. A good weekend so far!

A Blog Is Born

I have been kicking around the idea of starting a scrapbooking blog because I need a quick, easy and mobile place to record my ideas and thoughts. I want to document the everyday, especially with Gracie growing up so fast. Already it's been eight months. I want a record of her favorite food (applesauce) and her favorite show (Teletubbies) and her favorite toy (varies, right now it's a wire thingy with beads on it - or a mirror). Then when I have more time (HA!) I can go back and pull content from my blog for my scrapbook. Although right now, it's 1:15 am and I had better get back to sleep or Gracie is going to run me ragged tomorrow. It's St. Patrick's Day and we're going to grandma's house to make green cookies with Marie and watch the new Barbie movie.
